Majlis Waris Shah UK is a community organisation established in 1998 to promote Punjabi culture and language in Great Britain. The language and literature have been left behind in modern British Asian heritage, Waris Shah fills a gap and enriches the learning and cultural identities. Majlis Waris Shah provides an opportunity particularly for the young Asian generation to relate themselves to their roots. MWSUK aims to organise cultural events to bridge the gap between the Asian diasporas.
About us
Majlis Waris Shah UK was founded in 1998. Majlis contribution to developing Art and cultural sensibility among Punjabi people in the Borough of Walthamstow is unforgettable. its popular programs include celebrations of Sufi poets Bulleh shah 1680 -1757, and Mian Muhammad Bakhsh 1830-1907. Majlis highlighted the work and life of many contemporary poets and writers as well.
